How to Apply

We help connect UM undergraduate students from all disciplines to UM faculty research mentors. Most research positions are not paid.

Application Steps: Although all updated browsers are supported, we recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as your browser. If experiencing trouble downloading the online application, please check your pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from this site. If experiencing trouble with the online application, clear the cache on your browser first before trying again.

  • Determine your availability: minimum of 6 hours per week in at least two hour blocks. Research week is considered Monday-Friday, 9 to 5pm, no weekends.
  • Be ready to upload a current resume and a copy of your unofficial transcripts from CaneLink.
  • APPLY ONLINE! If there is a particular research mentor that you are interested in working with, indicate this in the "Areas of Interest" section of the application.  See our On Campus Resources for UM's research mentor database.
