MARIA GALLI STAMPINO, PH.D.

DEAN OF UNDERGRADUATE AFFAIRS

Maria Galli Stampino (PhD, Stanford) has been on the faculty at UM since 1996. She serves as the Dean of Undergraduate Education in the Office of the Provost and as the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and College Diversity in the College of Arts & Sciences. Her research concerns early modern Italian literature, with an emphasis on performance on the one hand and on women writers on the other. She is the author of several books, articles, and essays. Her most recent publication is the edition and translation of Lucrezia Marinella’s 1618 poem Love Enamored and Driven Mad (Toronto and Tempe, 2020), with Janet E. Gómez.
