This ten week program is open to underrepresented minority and/or female students within the University of Miami College of Arts & Sciences students.

About the Program

The 2020 program runs May 18 - July 24 and provides students the opportunity to continue working on their research project under the mentorship of a faculty mentor during the summer term. Selected students are provided with:

  • $5,000 Stipend
  • On-campus Housing
  • Weekly Professional Development Meetings
  • Organized Cultural Activities
  • Poster Presentation Opportunities

Program Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria prior to program start date to be eligible:

  • Underrepresented minority and/or female
  • Academic major within the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Sophomore standing or above
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • 3.0 Minimum GPA
  • Conducting research with UM research mentor
